Web application security testing
Authorised penetration testing for websites, web applications and APIs. Agree on scope, test boundaries, reporting and remediation retesting.
Esta página em portuguêsA solution shaped around the need.
Security testing helps you understand how an attacker could misuse an application before those weaknesses are exploited. We assess websites, web applications and APIs within an explicitly authorised scope. Findings are explained in terms of the affected behaviour, practical impact and recommended remediation so your team can prioritise the work.
When this service fits
- A web application approaching a release
- An existing product that needs an independent security assessment
- A website or API with a defined security review requirement
Scope and deliverables
What your project can include
- Written scope, authorisation and testing boundaries
- Assessment of the agreed web application or API surface
- Validation and evidence for identified findings
- Prioritised technical findings and an executive summary
- Remediation recommendations
- A retest of agreed remediations within the engagement scope
The final deliverables, schedule and commercial terms are defined in the proposal for your project.
How we approach this work
Testing starts only after the responsible party has authorised the assets, methods and test window. We establish communication and constraints before interacting with an environment. A test is a bounded assessment and cannot establish the absence of every vulnerability.
Questions about web application security testing
Do you need permission before testing?
Yes. The asset owner or an authorised representative must approve the scope and conditions in writing. An enquiry does not authorise any testing.
Can testing be performed on a staging environment?
Yes. We agree on an appropriate environment after considering how closely it represents production and the risks of each testing approach.
Does a penetration test guarantee that our application is secure?
No. It identifies issues within an agreed scope and period. Remediation, ongoing maintenance and further validation remain important after the engagement.
